One of the biggest concerns for seniors is their personal and financial safety and security.

The Hamilton Police Service has officers and resources specifically mandated to deal with issues, concerns and challenges that affect our seniors’ community with respect to the law by:

  • Co-operation with community services and other agencies to address seniors’ quality of life concerns.
  • Education – Developing and delivering programs on seniors’ safety and security
  • Investigation – Assisting in investigations of abuse and neglect of seniors.

The Seniors’ Support Officer will liaise with the following community services and agencies to address quality of life issues

  • Alzheimer Society
  • Catholic Family Services
  • Community Care Access Centre
  • Hamilton Council on Aging
  • Hospitals and other agencies that deal with seniors
  • Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relationships
  • Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee
  • Victorian Order of Nurses
  • Alcohol, Drug and Gambling services
